Balance is the key to having success in life. Balance is the Law that governs all of existence and keeps it in harmony. Everywhere we look there is balance. Balance in the cosmos, balance in nature, balance in relationships and balance within ourselves. It is up to us to make the choice to do the work and make sure we live balanced, healthy lives to reach our fullest potential.
I believe there are four major life areas that we need to work on to have proper balance in our lives. Those areas are the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. It is important that we do the work and are consistent in each area and not put all our energy into one area.
The four areas are all connected to each other and will have an effect on each other. For example, if I were to ignore my emotional side that could then manifest as an illness or pain in the physical part of my life. If I were to ignore my spiritual side that could manifest as depression in the mental part of my life. When we ignore one area it will spill over and affect the other areas too. This is unavoidable as they are all connected to each other.
When we have balance in the four areas our lives we will start to notice changes in our lives. We will have more energy and we will face less resistance in achieving our goals. We will be happier and healthier. We will move through life in harmony with our surroundings and we will look for ways in which we can help others. People will be drawn to us and we will be great examples for others of the potential that lies within us all.
Balance must also be present in all of our relationships in order for them to happy and successful. Each person must look for the win/win situation for the relationship to last. One cannot simply be the giver and the other the taker. Eventually that will fall apart and the relationship will fail. This goes for any kind of relationship whether it be primary, friends, business or a sports team. Win/win should be the goal for all relationships. There must a balance.
Everywhere we look there is a delicate balance at work that allows for us to exist in the first place. The sun and the moon are the perfect distance from the Earth for there to be life. The animals and nature have the perfect balance of predator and prey so that one species does not overtake the world. The weather has the perfect balance so that humans are able to live on all continents and thrive throughout the world. If just one little thing were to change, like all the bees dying, the whole world would change and life as we know it would be different. The balance would be changed and thus have major results.
It is up to each and every one of us to decide what kind of life we want to live and how we interact with everything around us. What kind of impact do we want to have on nature and the world around us? What kind of effect do we want to have on the people we come into contact with? What kind of relationship do we want to have with ourselves? We have a choice in all of these decisions. I hope that we all choose to live balanced lives and have a positive impact on the world and truly be the best versions of ourselves that is possible.
